Job Description

Our client launched in the UK in 2009, now boasts a customer base of over 1.4 million and employs more than 1,500 employees.  They are launching their unique customer alternative to the Australian market alongside expanding in to International markets with the same principles they built their business on. By focusing on providing customers with excellent service, more sustainable, environmental products and doing it all for a fairer price. Whilst there are lots of existing elements of the UK business that could easily be transferred to the Australian market, most of what has to be done will need to be created from scratch; in essence they are a well-funded startup, supported by a business with a proven track-record in a similar market, guided by a key set of principles.

Focused on providing customers with awesome digital tools, leveraging some of the technology they have already developed in the UK, and working to make it relevant and better for Australian customers. They are building a strong engineering culture that’s all about empowerment and ownership. You’ll be one of the early hires into the team, working alongside Senior and Lead software engineers, to develop our in-country software engineering capability.

This is an opportunity for a business analyst to move into a Product Manager role or a Digital Product Manager who has made that leap

You will be expected to:  

Ensure that we always build the best products and deliver appropriate solutions for our customers;

Appropriately translate business needs into technical requirements;

Complete, maintain and update market research and competitor analysis;

Demonstrate exemplary business analysis skills;

Collaborate with in-house developers throughout the development and iteration of a product / service / change;

Work closely with in-house designers to create visually engaging and highly intuitive products and services;

Identify customer problems by suitably analysing complex datasets;

Work with third parties to ensure for a successful implementation;

Write and facilitate the creation of coherent user stories and acceptance criteria;

Create visuals to meet the needs of the audience (i.e. high-level conceptual visuals, low-level detailed visuals and everything in between);

Map end-to-end “as is” and “to be” states;

Engage with and manage the expectations of various stakeholders at all levels of the organisation;

Understand the tangible benefits of any change

Create, develop and continually challenge the business case for what you’re doing

You wll bring:

At least 3 years experience in a BA role, working on medium to large projects within an agile environment;

Strong experience in a commercial product, service or bespoke software development environment;

Worked across multiple work streams and cross-functional teams with incremental deliveries;

Completed at least one of the following:  Agile training - scrum master / product owner / kanban / lean;

BCS Certificate in Requirements Engineering; or, BCS Certificate in Business Analysis Practice.
