Job Description

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in copywriting and content strategy for digital platforms and experiences
  • Strong familiarity with user-centered design principles
  • Experience creating content and strategy for digital channels
  • Strong familiarity with digital content management systems and best practices
  • Able to think strategically, but also willing to roll up your sleeves to get work done
  • Prefer BA/MFA and/or equivalent experience

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand voice.
  • Write compelling and grammatically correct ad copy that can speak to target audiences, including A/B and test variants.
  • Create promotional copy and disclaimers and assist with facilitating necessary legal and marketing reviews for online promotions
  • Ensure brand standards are maintained with copy that carries a consistent and clear 'voice' for each product line
  • Work closely with the Channel Marketing team to provide marketing and ad copy for paid media and ecommerce sites for Windows, Office, Surface, Xbox, and Microsoft Accessories.
  • Paid Media includes SEM, email, social media and display ad campaigns. Ecommerce site placements include SEO, product pages, landing page copy, and blogs
  • Collaborate with marketing and program stakeholders to ensure that copy complements marketing goals.
  • Write content for campaigns from lead generation through conversion; includes emails, social, landing pages, etc. Follow digital best practices.
  • Content will be used across external retail partner ecommerce sites and digital campaigns, for example on Amazon.com, Bestbuy.com, or Walmart.com
  • Understand and respond to testing metrics and performance data to define, adjust, and influence the direction of creative writing.
  • Identify content that can be further developed for other marketing pieces, such as infographics, videos, blog posts, etc.
  • Follow market trends and apply a keen understanding of leading edge consumer engagement experiences to make decisions that will maximize the impact and effectiveness of content.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years’ experience copy-writing for agency, marketing firm, or related field.
  • An online portfolio of work demonstrating storytelling, advertising, or branded content experience across a range of brands or industries.
  • 1+ years overall experience in writing all content marketing types including, but not limited to: brochures and other print collateral, emails, and web copy.
  • 1+ years’ experience writing a variety of professional documents where grammatical and material accuracy was essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in journalism, advertising, marketing or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with technology and technology marketing is preferred.
  • Strong creative, conceptual, and communication skills.
  • Copy-editing and/or technical editing experience is a huge plus.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with critical deadlines. Well-informed of non-traditional marketing techniques and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Experience creating content for online platforms.
  • Creativity coupled with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility in adapting to changes in the workplace.
  • Ability to learn new technical skills and tools quickly.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to identify a problem and follow it through to resolution.
  • Good communication skills in person, on the phone, and in e-mail.
