Yo, Peeps, spring is in the air!

A favorite speaker of ours at An Event Apart, as well as the founder of design co-op SuperFriendly, Dan Mall is a creative triple threat: great on the page, fantastic on the web, and downright amazing when it comes to working with clients.

If someone who says, "If your client writes a bad brief, then write a better one," sounds like your kind of guy, read his insightful interview over at 99U.

Learn CSS Grid with Jen Simmons

Speaking about An Event Apart (which is on our mind because we just attended the kickoff show), conference favorite and Designer Advocate at Mozilla, Jen Simmons’ Seattle talk Designing with Grid did not disappoint.

Best of all, she pointed us to her amazing list of recommended resources to learn about CSS Grid.

Be sure to bookmark it, she’ll be adding resources as she gets them.

Top Task Management: Making it Easier to Prioritize by Gerry McGovern

Okay, okay, just ONE last AEA reference. Promise!

This was one of the best presentations given at the AEA all-star speaker event in 2016. Gerry McGovern is the founder and CEO of Customer Carewords, a company that helps organizations identify and optimize their customers’ top online tasks.

His Top Tasks Management method has been used by the likes of Cisco, Microsoft, Lenovo, Google, IBM, and the European Commission. At the end of the hour you have learned how to ID the “low-level tasks that flood your designs and confuse your users with an ocean of features and content”.

We can guarantee it is going to be light years ahead of any webinar you attend this year.

25 Names Every Graphic Designer Should Know

Chip Kidd. Saul Bass. Stefan Sagmeister.

If these names don’t ring a bell, please read this Creative Bloq post.

Give yourself a few days. It’s only 4 (web) pages, but if you visit all the essential links, it’s more like a 1/2 semester course. Totally worth the read.

We realize we’re not a “Mommy Blog” (yet), but this Creative Pro post has some really fun crafts worthy of breaking out the X-ACTO knife.

Do you remember where you left it? Do you know where the first aid kit is? Please find both before clicking the link.

By the end of the post, you should have some nice gift ideas to make for your favorite niece, nephew, or project manager.
